Description
Lindsay P. Cohn (PhD Political Science) is an Associate Professor at the US Naval War College. Her research and publications focus on military organizations (particularly personnel), civil-military relations, US foreign policy and public opinion, militaries and policing, international law of war, and normative democratic theory. She has testified before the Virginia General Assembly, the National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service, and the Senate Armed Services Committee. She has received the Commander's Award for Public Service from the Department of the Army, the Award for Outstanding Achievement from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict, and the Meritorious Civilian Service Award from the Department of the Navy. Before joining the Naval War College, she held positions at the Department of Defense (OSD/P/SOLIC/SOCT), the University of Northern Iowa (Assistant Professor), the Center for Transatlantic Relations (Johns Hopkins/SAIS), and the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik in Berlin.
